Next week (yes, I’m a bit late on this), November 17th, is the launch date for Wizard’s of the Coast’s latest D&D offering: Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. For those not aware of this much hyped new rulebook, here’s what you need to know.
New Classes
OK, well technically sub-classes, but still…Tasha’s will release official builds for almost 30 subclasses, providing players with a slew of new playable options (check with your DM before assuming you can play one).
New Magic Items
The best part of conquering foes in remote dungeons and sequestered lairs is the awesome loot you can find. We’re getting a pile of new items, and not the “common” items that came with Xanathar’s either. With names like “Nature’s Mantle”, and “Astral Shard”, we’re looking at some good stuff coming here (not that the commons from Xanathar’s weren’t cool, but new powerful stuff is exciting).
And the new items aren’t limited to just things to wear, wield and haul around either. Tattoos are coming into 5e as a way to add flavour and power to your character at the same time.
New Spells
Because you’re a spellcaster and you want more, that’s why!
You can never really have access to too many spells, and since many settings have a large number of powerful, planeshifting spellcasters who are continually cooking up new spells, it makes sense that we would see some new magics seeping into your favourite setting. More than 20 spells not previously released in core books will be available.
New DM Tools
Looking for new ways to add flavour and excitement to your game or shake things up for your group? Maybe you just want to know how to better deal with the sheer insane things that your players like to get up to? Tasha’s will release rules on sidekicks, parleying with monsters, supernatural regions, magical phenomena, hazards and puzzles. Lot’s of stuff to add some sizzle to your game.
Where, When, How?
Tasha’s will release November 17th, or next Tuesday.
It will be available in stores as well as online, where it is already available for pre-order.
